The Worship Arts Leader initiative (WALi) is a community-building initiative of Concordia University Irvine’s Center for Worship Leadership (CWL). Special WALi gatherings are created by the CWL to intentionally connect leaders of worship together for common support, empowered learning, and professional inspiration. These gatherings intentionally center around various types/modes of training. Below are descriptions of some of the training opportunities we currently offer.

WALi One-Day band workshops

The WALi One Day is a single-day event, designed to help your worship band play and sing with excellence.  Through a combination of large and small group interactive learning environments, your team will gain greater insight and practical skills in areas such as overall musicality, dynamics, song structure, choosing instrument parts, vocal technique and style, technology, and more.

The WALi Summit

The WALi Summit is a unique, multi-day event that is as much about connecting with other worship arts leaders as it is about learning.  Through thought-provoking keynote sessions and practical breakout workshops, participants are empowered, stretched and equipped for their next season of ministry.

Customized WALi training events

If you’d like to host a training event, we are sometimes able to customize our content to the your unique needs.  Contact us for more information.

New Training Initiatives from the CWL

The CWL also has plans to produce specialized worship resources and online education opportunities that can lead to non-credit-bearing Certificates in the area of Worship Theology, Ministry Leadership, and the various Practical Skill areas related to Worship Arts. A work in progress!
